Training programs were developed to give participants a greater understanding of how functional cognition impacts on a person's everyday life. What changes can and need to be made to the human and non-human environment to allow the person to live to their "Best Ability to Function". This neuro-biologically based approach to care ensures a less stressful working environment as realistic expectations become common place.

As from the beginning of July 2009 these two day healthcare clinician training programs will be organised and run by Cathy Hill, OT, Queensland and Jackie Wesson, AccOT, NSWs.

Results from 2007 to 2009 Healthcare Clinician Training in Australia

The two day healthcare professional training, which was conducted on 7 and 8 May, 2009 at the St George Hospital, Sydney, Australia attracted many therapists from NSWs and one participant came from the South Island of New Zealand. Jacki Wesson, AccOT and Cathy Hill, OT were instrumental in making this a worthwhile experience for so many people.

An excellent course was held at Logan Hospital in Queensland on 23 and 24 August 2008, as one participant said, "It made so much sense about the daily aspects of what we do as Occupational Therapists"

A successful training workshop was held in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia, on 6 and 7 June, 2008**

A very successful Two day Training Program was held at the Prince of Wales hospital, Randwick on the 28 and 29 March 2008**

A Successful Two Day Training Course was completed on 19 and 20 October 2007**

Future Training Programs for healthcare clinicians and health care assistants can be adjusted to accommodate the following time allocations:

• One hour or two hours sessions
• Half Day
• 6 hour day training sessions
